The Vermont School Age Care Network (VSACN) is a membership organization dedicated to increasing opportunities for and improving the quality of school age care in Vermont.

VSACN members receive valuable services such as: networking opportunities, technical assistance and professional development. Providing quality care takes time and dedication. VSACN strives to make it easier for its members through the services we provide.

Who We Are

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

  1. We believe in the importance of expanding opportunities for and improving the quality of school age care throughout the state of Vermont.
  2. We are committed to the task of assuring that VSACN members receive valuable services such as: networking opportunities, technical assistance and professional development.
  3. We recognize the right of all members to have the services needed to provide quality care to Vermont's children and will strive to help them obtain those services.

Quality school age care is provided to children grades K-6 during out of school hours. Registered or licensed caregivers provide care in a multitude of settings. While the surroundings may change, all quality programs share:

  • A safe and nurturing environment
  • A respectful and trained staff
  • A variety of available age-appropriate activities
  • A dedication to meeting the community’s needs
  • An availability of healthy, nutritious snacks
  • A commitment to communicate with parents
