1. Technical Administrative Support
2. Access to Training Workshops -
Members of VSACN receive registration discounts for the annual School Age Care Conference and special opportunities to attend workshops, trainings or special events sponsored by VSACN. Savings from discounts for training alone generally exceed the cost of VSACN membership.
3. Accreditation Assistance –
VSACN can help members take the steps toward accreditation by the National Afterschool Association (NAA). VSACN can assist with self-study and grants for accreditation fees and provide technical assistance. Once a center is accredited, professional growth and development for staff becomes as even greater focus, bringing more value to the center and its staff.
Accredited school age programs in Vermont are eligible to receive quality incentive funds from the Child Development Division. Generally, accredited centers gain more positive recognition in their community and are in a better position for receiving grants or loans from any funding institution.
Membership in VSACN is open to all school age care providers and community organizations interested in the importance of school age care. To join the VSACN Network contact the coordinator, Hope Emerson: hope@voost.org
